In theater, we often have to take on roles that we are learning as we go - and marketing is no different! Marketing is crucial to bringing audiences in the door, and helping the community to understand your brand and your programming. Every theater needs to think about it, and plan for it! In this training, we will cover the basics of marketing and how those concepts are applicable to all theaters. Included in this training:
• Marketing concepts and strategy
• Creating a marketing plan
• Budgeting and tactics
• Building your brand
• CRM, ticketing, and donor integration – why they are important, and thinking about first steps

Who should attend: People who wish to market theater, and have never marketed before. Board members new to theater, theater-makers in other areas of theater wishing to gain a base understanding of marketing, arts administrators in theaters of any size who have not previously done marketing, small-budget theaters looking for new ideas and inspiration, theater folks who wear all the hats.

This training will be led by Minnesota Theater Alliance staff, with additional content from an array of marketing experts.

This training is part of a 4-part training series with the Minnesota Theater Alliance:
• February 22: Social Media Strategy Boost
• April 19: Marketing 101
• May 24: Growing Group Sales
• June 21: Build Your Patron Journey (free training, open to all)

* There are no refunds or exchanges on registrations. However, registrations are transferable within your organization! We encourage organizations to register for the full series, and interchange who attends each training session.

We are working on additional dates for this training at locations in Greater Minnesota over the next year!
