Parents who are Performing Arts Professionals
April 27 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
Part playdate, part discussion, we welcome parents of young children (and those planning to be parents, or who’s kids have grown up, and want to lend their knowledge from past experience!) to join us for a morning of community and conversation.
Working in the theater can often mean crazy schedules, multiple jobs, and low incomes. Adding a child brings challenges with finding child flexible and affordable child care, figuring out maternity leave, and for some it means choosing to stop doing theater. We want to hear about it, and as a community discuss ways to lift each other up and determine if their are solutions from within the theater community.
Children and significant others are welcome to attend. Coffee and juice will be provided. We will have a coloring station for kids, and a small variety of toys for the very little ones. Any additional books/toys are parent’s responsibility. There will not be childcare, but we see this as a relaxed (and possibly noisy!) gathering.
