Production Team Town Hall Series (part 1)
June 15, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Please join us for this town hall gathering and working session for Designers, Technicians, Stage Managers, and other production team members in the Minnesota Performing Arts community.
Over the last year we have had a lot of separate but related conversations about things that need to change. As things start to open up again, how do we take the things that have been talked about and work together to make sure there is action.
How do we protect and uplift the least privileged and create a safe, healthy and sustainable theatre culture for all?
This is a space for those professionals to explore and identify steps we can take to help change the current landscape of Minnesota performing arts through a lens of antiracism.
This is not a workshop or a presentation. This is an active dialogue between all participants to navigate a path forward and develop concrete actions.
Peter Morrow, Sound and Video Designer
It is the first in a series of three that we will be having as we try to figure out how as a community we can put into action the things we have been talking about. The things that need to change.
The first two town halls are primarily for designers, technicians, stage managers and other production team members. The third town hall is to welcome producers into the conversation and start to figure out how we can support each other in implementing change.
These conversations are intended to result in collectively community decided actions that actively work towards an antiracist theater community.
During the breakout portion of this conversation, we will have a BIPOC-only space for those interested.
We will not be recording this event, in order to offer a space where people can share openly and honestly. Instead, we will be taking notes and writing a summary that will be reviewed by attendees to share with a broader audience.
We look forward to engage in necessary and potentially uncomfortable dialogue with you.
If you have any questions beforehand please feel free to reach out to email@example.com. If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like a question/topic brought up anonymously, please send those to Kaitlen as well.
