Virtual Town Hall for Designers in MN Performing Arts
July 29 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Please join us for this town hall gathering and working session for designers in Minnesota Performing Arts. This is a space for designers to explore steps we can take to help change the current landscape of Minnesota performing arts through a lens of antiracism. We acknowledge the significant past and ongoing labor by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, people of color) arts groups and artists, and we seek to be in conversation with and supportive of this work as we move forward.
Please see the description from the gathering host below for more information.

From the gathering host:
Hello friends. It’s been about 5 weeks since we last met so will be good to gather again. I’ve been having lots of conversations with folks in those weeks and I know many of you have too.
This conversation is open to any performing arts designers, technicians, and production team members who are interested in working together towards an antiracist performing arts community, discussing what we can do individually and collectively.
The discussion will shift as needed based on those in the room, but for the breakout groups we’ll have some questions to start things off at least, looking at barriers to entry, contracts and process related issues. I’ll post more details on those several days before the meeting so as you can gather thoughts as needed.
During the breakout group portion of this meeting, we will offer a BIPOC-only space for those interested. Group share back from the BIPOC-only space will be optional. We will not be recording this event, in order to offer a space where people can share openly and honestly. Instead, we will be taking notes and writing a summary to share with a broader audience.
Looking forward to the continued discussion. Details on agenda will be posted in the coming days.
