On November 19, 2012, the Minnesota Theater Alliance and The Playwrights Center convened experienced local playwrights, freelance directors and artistic directors interested in starting and shaping a conversation about how our community can collaborate to produce more local new work together. Approximately 65 people attended. Notes from this discussion can be viewed here.
On January 21, 2013, we met again at the Children’s Theatre Company to talk further in breakouts focused on topics that emerged from the first meeting. In these discussions, we identified several collaborative actions that community members could pursue to help support the production of locally made work. Read more about ideas for future community initiatives, and the notes from our last discussion here.
The Alliance has not found adequate interest and availability of community members willing to steer the community initiatives identifed at the last Made in MN meeting. For now, this discussion is on hiatus. Contact us if you’d like to help revive this conversation.
